Questions and Answers
Q. How does a direct giving program work?
A. You decide on a gift amount ($10 minimum). You then authorize your bank to transfer this amount from your checking or saving account directly to Metro Catholic School on a regular basis. This can also be done using your credit card. (See printed or on-line form for process.)
Q.What are the benefits?
A. To you, this program makes giving easier and more convenient. No more checks to write and nothing to mail. To Metro Catholic School, this program is beneficial because you help reduce our administrative, postage and paper costs. More of your gift therefore can go directly to Metro Catholic services. Also, because we can count on your contribution each month, we can more effectively budget our limited resources.
Q. Is this a safe method of making donations?
A. Yes. Automatic transfer of funds is safer than mailing cash or checks. In fact, one of the largest users of this method is the Social Security Administration.
Q. What record will I have of my monthly donations?
A. Your checking account or credit card statement will show the date and amount of your donation to Metro Catholic School. Also, we can provide you (if you request it) with a year-end statement listing your contributions for the year.
Q. What if I change my mind?
A. You may discontinue participation or change your gift amount at any time. Just notify Metro Catholic Development Office in writing (letter or fax is required) 7-10 business days before the next scheduled transfer. You should notify us (again, in writing) if you move, change banks or your credit card number changes.
Q. How do I sign up?
A. If you have received the giving form in the mail, simply complete the authorization form and mail it to us. If your gift will be made from your checking account, please enclose a check, along with the authorization form, for your first month’s donation. It’s that simple! We’ll take care of the rest. Or, go to our on-line giving page and complete your donation using the on-line form.
