Contest
Celebrating America’s Best Times
The annual school speech contest at Metro Catholic was held
May 26, 2005.
Sponsored by the Modern Woodmen of America, this contest gives
students in grades 5-8 an opportunity to develop skills in clear
thinking and public speaking. This year’s topic, “A
Great Time in American History” gave students the opportunity
to look back on and critique significant historical events in
our nation’s history, such as, women’s suffrage,
the civil rights movement, the lunar landing and many more.

year’s first place winner, Hope,
proudly displays her plaque with
