The fifth grade class was chosen to participate in a program sponsored by K'NEX and Toys "R" Us. The "Ultimate Big Air Ball" from K'NEX was delivered to the science room and our science classes worked together to contribute, learn, and have fun building as a team. After completing the task of building the model, it was displayed at Toys "R" Us in North Olmsted on October 1, 2004.
This building project supported math learning by demonstrating shapes and angles and their application within a structure. Science concepts such as levers and inclined planes as well as the Bernoulli Principle were explored. Technology learning got a boost through strategies, structural integrity, and interdependent systems.
Congratulations! Grade Five on teamwork well done!
